I've been dying to draw this picture forever, and I never really had the ability to draw it, but with my recent comic piece, 'a new kind of jungle', I was finally prepared to draw two comic characters, both heroic, and strong. Witchblade and Tomb Raider, both made by Top Cow Productions, in 1997, decided to intertwine the two, both facing danger, both ordinary women with extrordinary purposes. I love Tomb Raider because of Lara's character. Its deep, thoughtful, and at times a little bit prideful, but she also has a sensitive side and has a deeper meaning behind her exploration and raiding of tombs. Sarah Pezinni, just a New York City dectective, realizes she is the next hold and protector of the Witchblade. With her choleric nature, and nuturing spirit, Sarah is the pinicale of true woman pride. Together, these two heroines are invincible, and both have more power and adventurosity then we give credit for.
I really like this piece, even though it took forever to finish, but really, I loved the results in the end, I found it to be very satisfying and pleasing to the eye. All I used on this piece was a #2 mechanical pencil, and acutally, that's what I use most of the time, 90% yes. Anywhoo, I hope you all like this piece. Just to let you in on a little secret, there is a new Tomb Raider movie in the making and in 2009, Witchblade will come to theaters featuring the lovely Sarah Pezinni. Just little brain-candy for you all! ;]
