Description

This bad boy, er maybe it should 'this bad girl' has been sitting on my drawing board for some time now. I've not had the time to continuously work on it as its my first true realistic digital painting piece I've ever done. I wanted to do something to see how much I had improved over the last few years and needlessly to say, I think my jump from traditional to digital as went pretty well. I still have a lot to learn but I think I am improving at a decent rate. In case anyone knows why I painted the background for TRII the way I did, is because one of my most nostalgic moments in all of TRII is after you get outside of the caves beneath the Great Wall and you get to that green and rock valley with the waterfall where you jump on the edge and dive into the pool to get the first key of the level. That was one of the prettiest areas for me and it for myself, it had all the elements of Tomb Raider in it: Fear, awesome landscapes, danger at the bottom as soon you as you got out of the pool of water and mots importantly, Lara looked like a badass doing that swan dive. As well I wanted to give off that, 'Oh my god, I want to play that game' just by looking at the poster like I did when I first played it. This was lots of fun to work on and a lot of pain and suffering when into it, haha! Anways, feedback and comments are always welcome!

I love the poses of both Lara and the dragon. :)
