Nariko - Heavenly Sword

  More redheads! This piece was kinda tricky to paint because of it's low resolution but I did my best. It's rare that I find great pencils of Nariko, even less so of one's that I want to paint. If you're not familiar with the character of the name, you should do some playing of said game and reading the story, or even watching it on Youtube. The game was so ahead of it's time and is easily one of the best videogames made in the last 10 years. I was really looking forward to a possible HS2, but I don't believe that will ever happen. Either way though, Nariko will always remain one of my favorite characters of all time. I really wanted a lot of different color themes within the piece but yet still retain the vibrancy in Nariko's hair as the center of where your eyes meet when you look at it. I wanted leaves from the cherry blossom trees to be rustling and just enough of the pagodas in the background, just like in the game, to be showing as the morning rises.
